According to MyPhillyPark.org, there are over 35 outdoor screenings scheduled across city parks this summer, with something for everyone—from animated hits to fan-favorite blockbusters to indie dramas.
You’ll find movies at:
- Clark Park in West Philly
- Schuylkill Banks by the river
- FDR Park in South Philly
- The Oval on the Parkway
- Drexel Square and even Dilworth Park

What to Bring to an Outdoor Screening
If it’s your first time attending one of these events, here are a few quick tips to make the most of it:
Bring a blanket or low-back lawn chair. Many spaces are grass or gravel.
Bug spray is your friend—mosquitoes love summer as much as you do.
Pack snacks, water, and maybe a little picnic. Some venues have food trucks, but not all.
Arrive early for a good spot, especially at popular locations like Clark Park or the Oval.
And remember, most screenings begin at dusk (usually around 8:15–8:30 PM), so aim to be there by 7:30 to settle in.
